Paul, is a science fiction and comic film,
released in 2011 by Greg Mottola and written by and starring Simon Pegg, Nick
Frost, with Seth Rogen as the voice of the title character. There are three versions of the film.
The film contains numerous references to other science fiction films. Critical
reaction to the film was generally positive.
The plot of the film
is very humoristic because, the main characters are always asking to the
extraterrestrial about his planet. The main characters are two sci-fi geeks who take a pilgrimage to America's heartland. While there, they accidentally
meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe
forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul has been at a top-secret
military base. When he discovers he's been taken prisoner, he decides to escape
and hop on the first vehicle out of town. Chased by federal agents and the
fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and
Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. This
experience take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.
In my opinion, this film makes you think about what
the people can do to help each other, the film teaches us about loyalty, but
always from the side of humor. The extraterrestrial Paul is a little crazy, because he
is always doing madness.
